City get County at home first up
 |
| Peter Thorne celebrates the first goal of his hat-trick at home to Notts County last season |
City have been handed a home start to the League Two campaign for the second year running.
They will kick off the new season on August 9 against Notts County at Valley Parade, no doubt hoping to repeat January's 3-0 success over the Magpies when Peter Thorne bagged a hat-trick.
City face last year's opening-day opponents Macclesfield in their first away game the following week, before a tricky home clash against beaten play-off finalists Rochdale.
The month ends with a long trek to face Blue Square Premier champions Aldershot - City's first visit to the Recreation Ground since 1982.
Lincoln will once again provide the opposition on Boxing Day but this time the game is at Sincil Bank.
Morecambe visit Valley Parade two days later for the holiday home game but there is no New Year's Day fixture this time because January 1 falls on a Thursday and the Football League feel that would be too close to the FA Cup third-round ties taking place the following weekend.
With more southern-based sides this time, City will face more miles on the motorway - and most of the longer journeys take place after the turn of the year, with trips to Bournemouth, Luton, Gillingham, Barnet and Exeter in the space of nine weeks.
City's final home game will be against Yorkshire rivals Rotherham, before the curtain comes down with a trip to Chesterfield on May 2.
All fixtures are subject to change.

Bantam Forever, the point I was trying to make is, the reason for the delay. That is he and his family need to decide if relocation is best for them as there are clubs in the midlands wanting him.
If he moves house he joins us.
Lat on Blake I heard was he wanted 10k a year so unless he has dropped his demands dramatically cant see that happening.

I just hope they are happy to re-locate, if not I respect their feelings as uprouting family cant be easy.

Bl00dy hell, even I would be on 2.5x his salary!
Aren't our youth team on more? The ones that aren't on YTS that is.
I think Chris may have put 'year' instead of 'week'. Blake wouldn't be worth getting a quarter of that a week!

We have more chance of signing Frank (Bruno) than Darren Moore. He won't be joining us and it has nothing to do with relocation. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST, lol.

Can't see Blake signing though. Living near Manc, looking forward to Mac away. I fancy a good run this season for some reason, looking forward to it for once.

Would be better by now to be talking about who has signed. Big meeting Do we give them all an extra ticket and if so when. Answer Yes but wait until everybody has bought any they thought that they might have got straight away. Freebies will be just given out with no choice of seating, sorry forgot to say, fell short of 9,000.

Why dont we just face facts and stop pretending we are a big club when we are not,Its obvious we cant attract quality players higher up the leagues like Moore because of financial reasons, or the players are unwilling to drop down the divisions so why dont city just concentrate on picking up players in league two or the blue square premier and improve the youth set up for the future at the same time.
